WHAT IS THE SECURE FUTURE CONVERSATION?

Facing the prospect of nursing home, assisted living or long-term care bills can be overwhelming. There is so much to learn and you hear conflicting advice from just about everyone.

The Secure Future Conversation is a simple format to discuss the issues that are most important to someone facing the possibility of some long-term care. We focus on answering three very basic questions:

  1. What would my assets and financial affairs need to look like for my spouse or me to qualify for government benefits?

  2. How quickly will I get from where I am now to the point where my spouse or I qualified for government benefits?

  3. Can I do any legal or financial planning to help qualify my spouse or myself for government benefits to help pay for long-term care expenses?

Although it is impossible to answer every question and solve every problem, we can cut through the conflicting information and confusion to give you a clear picture of where you stand. With that clear picture in mind, you can confidently think about your situation, take control and make decisions in the best interest of your family.
